Yes. Our emergency line is answered by a person 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays, and a certified technician is dispatched immediately on every emergency call. Response across Johannesburg is 1 to 2 hours. There is no after-hours premium — the price quoted at midnight is the same as at midday.

Aircon repair in Johannesburg starts from R650. A diagnostic call-out fee of R550 to R750 applies and is deducted in full from the repair cost when you proceed. Capacitor replacement starts from R850, electrical and wiring faults run R750 to R3,500, gas leak detection and regas from R1,200, PCB replacement R1,800 to R6,000, and compressor replacement R4,500 to R8,000 or more. A written quote is always provided before any work begins.

Yes. SAAFIKCOOL completes 98% of Johannesburg repairs on the first visit, the same day. Technicians carry genuine OEM capacitors, contactors, fan motors, PCBs, thermostats and refrigerant on fully stocked mobile units, so most faults are resolved without a return trip. Installations of standard wall splits are frequently completed same-day or next-day too.

Within 1 to 2 hours anywhere in Johannesburg and the 80+ surrounding areas we cover, at any hour of the day or night. Mobile service units are positioned across the region — Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Roodepoort, Fourways, Bryanston, Rivonia and Rosebank are all inside that window, as are the East Rand and Centurion.

All major brands: Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Samsung, LG, Carrier, Alliance, York, Hisense, Panasonic, Gree, Midea and Toshiba. Our technicians are factory-trained on each and use genuine OEM parts for every repair, which keeps your manufacturer warranty intact. Whatever brand you have, we service it correctly rather than fitting a generic part that fails again in six months.

Every repair carries a comprehensive 1 to 6 month warranty on parts and labour, using genuine OEM components. New installations carry the full manufacturer's warranty on the unit, which we register for you, plus our own workmanship and labour warranty. If the same fault recurs inside the warranty period we return and repair it at no cost.

Every 6 to 12 months for most Johannesburg properties. Hot Highveld summers, high dust levels and frequent load-shedding cycles accelerate filter clogging, coil fouling and electrical wear, which reduce efficiency, raise your electricity bill and shorten compressor life. Regular servicing catches slow refrigerant leaks and electrical faults while they are still cheap to fix.

The most common causes are a refrigerant gas leak from vibration-loosened pipe joints, dirty evaporator or condenser coils restricting heat transfer, a clogged filter choking airflow, a failed capacitor stopping the compressor from starting, or compressor failure. We diagnose the actual cause on site, repair any leak before regassing, and quote in writing before proceeding.

Usually a failing compressor drawing excessive current, a surge-damaged PCB, a shorted fan motor winding, a faulty capacitor causing a hard start, or wiring damaged by a load-shedding surge. Do not keep resetting the breaker — repeated restart attempts can burn out the compressor and turn an R850 repair into an R8,000 one. Call 071 942 4650 for same-day diagnosis.

Yes. We handle office buildings, retail stores, shopping centres, restaurants, hotels, server rooms, warehouses and industrial facilities across Johannesburg. Commercial work covers VRF design, installation and repair, rooftop and package unit servicing, central plant diagnostics, energy efficiency audits, compliance documentation and 24/7 priority emergency support under contract.

No. SAAFIKCOOL charges the same transparent rates at any hour, on any day of the year. The diagnostic call-out fee is R550 to R750 whether the call comes at 10am on a Tuesday or 2am on a public holiday, and it is deducted from the repair cost in either case.

Someone over 18 needs to provide access and approve the written quote before work starts. For estates and office parks we can coordinate with security or a building manager if you arrange authorisation in advance. Payment is due on completion, and we email the invoice and the technician's condition report the same day.

Replace when the unit is over 10 years old, runs on discontinued R22 refrigerant, or the repair quote exceeds roughly half the price of a new system — and replace rather than repair a failed compressor on a unit past 8 years. Repair when the unit is under 8 years old and the fault is a capacitor, fan motor, PCB or gas leak. We give you both numbers and an honest recommendation, including when repairing is the better buy.
